The motor-compressor unit has a DC motor (M) and a reciprocating piston compressor (K) contained within a gas-tight encapsulation housing (H). The housing is divided internally by an intermediate base (HZ) between the cylinder (Z) of the compressor and the electric motor, to provide an oil sump space at a medium pressure and a motor space coupled to a pressure line (DL).
