DEVICE FOR STACKING SHEETS

Known devices for stacking sheets (1), especially sheets of paper or cardboard that are imbricated and fed on pallets (4), include a feeder (2) for said sheets (1) that is arranged in a vertically fixed position above the maximum stack height above the ground, in addition to a rising and descending delivery platform (5) on which said stack is formed. The device comprises a number of upper belts (13) extending from the feeder (2) to at least as far as the stacking area, in addition to further stack-forming elements that act upon each longitudinal sheet (1) edge, so that the sheets (1) can be feed to the stacking area in a trouble-free manner and the edges of said sheets can be placed on the stack (3) in a precise manner. The upper belts (13) and the additional stack-forming elements can be positioned above the working width by means of an adjusting device. The upper belts (13) can be adjusted independently of the stack-forming elements (separating shoes (20) and separating metal sheets (21)) in order to enable automatic, technically simple, crosswise positioning of said individual stack-forming elements.
