<p>A calibration system is provided for variably operable devices such as robotic lamps or music systems so that a controlling system knows the 3D position of the device and its angular orientation. The calibration system includes sensors for emissions from the device at each of at least four calibration points located, for example, at corners of a square rug or folded frame. The sensors are connected to a data transmission device which passes data to a computer for evaluation. A method of calibrating the devices includes scanning each of the sensors with an emitting device until the respective sensor indicates that the device is pointed accurately at the sensor.</p> |
