<p>An information recording medium used for recording information by irradiation with an energy beam. The information recording medium includes grooved information recording tracks, a recording layer, one or more thermal diffusion control layers, and a thermal diffusion layer. The recording layer has a thickness larger than the height of the step between the information recording tracks. The total thickness of the thermal diffusion control layers is larger than the depth of the groove of the information recording tracks. Therefore, no cross erase occurs even when information is recorded on the information recording medium at such a high density that the track pitch is 70 % or less of the laser beam spot diameter.</p> |
