The invention concerns an electrical household appliance for heating liquids, comprising a container including a heating base (3), glass side walls (1), mounted on the base (3), a sealing joint (2) arranged between a ring-shaped edge (25) of the base (3) and a shoulder (10) provided on the lower part of the side walls (1), as well as maintaining means (13, 6) arranged for clamping the joint (2) between the ring-shaped edge (25) and the shoulder (10). The invention is characterised in that the shoulder (10) is on the outside and is extended on its periphery by a lower tubular part (23).
