<p>A latch (10) of the pull-up type for attaching one member to another, such as cabinet door to a cabinet, is unlatched and latched by turning the latch handle (122) in one direction or the other. When the door is in a latched position, rotating the unlatching direction initially causing a spring-biased member (31, 33) carrying a latching pawl (30) to move axially inward and away from the engaging surface. The inward movement of the shaft (21) is permitted because a cam (33) in the latch body (13) is moved rotationally to present downwardly sloping cam surfaces (45) of second cam member (34). An adjustable pawl member (54) is provided which can be positioned to operate over a range of distances relative to the latch body (13).</p> |
