The invention relates to the utilization of a shaped thermoplastic material different from ABS for the production of housings and covers and the semi-finished products thereof for filters, pumps and motors, containing, in relation to the sum of the portions of components A, B and C and optionally D, a total of 100 % by weight of a) 1-48 % by weight of a single or multiphase particulate emulsion polymer with a glass transition temperature below 0 DEG C in at least one phase and a mean particle size of 50-1000 nm, preferably 50-800 nm as component A; b) 1-48 % by weight of at least one amorphous or semi-crystalline polymer as component B; c) 51-98 % by weight of a polycarbonate as component C, and d) 0-47 % by weight of usual additives and/or fibrous or particulate filling materials or the mixtures thereof as component D.
