<p>Apparatus for preparing drinks, comprising a reservoir for storing a cold drink (23), a source of steam, a mixing chamber (30) in which through a steam conduit (24) having a steam valve (26) steam can be brought in and in which through supply means cold drink from the reservoir can be brought in with the purpose to obtain a warm drink from the cold drink and the steam, a discharge conduit (28) to discharge the warm drink out of the mixing chamber. The steam source comprises a boiler (10) in which during operation not only steam but also boiling water will be present. The steam conduit with therein the steam valve is installed between the top side of the boiler and a steam outlet in the wall of the mixing chamber, and a hot water conduit (42) with therein a hot water valve (44) is installed between the bottom side of the boiler and a hot water outlet in the wall of the mixing chamber. The hot water valve is controlled by a controller (34) which at a desired moment in time, preferably after preparation and discharging a portion of warm drink, opens the hot water valve during a predetermined time period to supply hot water under the influence of the steam pressure in the boiler to the mixing chamber to clean said mixing chamber.</p> |
