<p>The invention relates to a piston (1) comprising a cooling channel (12), a piston base body (2) made of forged steel. The inventive piston also comprises a box-type skirt (11), bosses and boss supports, connecting walls (9) between the boss supports (8), and a combustion cavity (6). The aim of the invention is to improve the rigidity of the ring part. To this end, the piston (1) comprises an enclosing wall above the boss borings (7). A component which delimits the cooling channel (12) is welded between said wall and the piston head (5). This construction provides an increased rigidity of the ring part in a piston (1) of this type.</p> |
