The engine has a cylinder (11) receiving combustion air via an induction path (3) contg. a choke flap (12) and a pressure sensor (6) for detecting a load signal on the basis of the pressure in the induction path. The pressure sensor is connected to the induction path before the choke flap in the direction of induction air flow. The sensor can be connected between the choke flap and an air filter (1).
