The method of making a pipe coupling involves welding a connector (5) onto a pipe (1) end and inserting a liner (2) onto which a support is placed to form it to shape for preparation for welding. The connector is then welded to a second connector (7) and a spacer shell (3) is placed in the annular gap between the liner and pipe.
