<p>A liquid crystal display device (1) comprises a liquid crystal display panel (3) and a reflector (5) arranged on the opposite side of the front. The liquid crystal display panel (3) holds liquid crystal (3f) between two transparent substrates (3a, 3b), which has display electrodes (3c, 3d) of conducting transparent film on their inner faces. The reflector (5) has projections (5a) on its surface opposed to the liquid crystal display panel (3), and their positions correspond to display electrodes (3c, 3d). When light passing through the liquid crystal display panel (3) is incident on the projections (5a) of the reflector (5), light rays reflected by the projections (5a) differ in propagation time to the observer due to the surface state, thus producing a three-dimensional effect of images, such as character images.</p> |
