<p>The present invention is directed to an elastic laminate which is elastically extensible in at least one direction. The elastic laminate (70) includes an elastomeric material (124) having a first surface (150) and a second surface (152) opposing the first surface. The elastomeric material includes a polystyrene thermoplastic elastomer. The elastic laminate further includes a first nonwoven layer (122) including component fibers which include a polyester. The elastomeric material (124) is bonded to the first nonwoven layer (122) through a continuous heat/pressure bond which is formed by application of a bonding temperature which is lower than the melting point of the polyester. The present invention is also directed to a disposable garment employing such an elastic laminate.</p> |
