<p>A method of purifying a compound of forumla (I) where R?1, R2, R3, R4 and R5¿ are independently selected from hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, haloalkyl, alkylthio, haloalkylthio, alkoxy, haloalkoxy, alkylsulphonyl or haloalkylsulphonyl; X is -NR6-NR7-, where R?6 and R7¿ are independently selected from hydrogen or alkyl, or a salt thereof; said method comprising washing a solution of a compound of formula (I) in a first solvent with a second solvent immiscible with said first solvent, wherein one of the first solvent or the second solvent is water and the other is an organic solvent, and the pH of the aqueous phase is selected such that the compound of formula (I) substantially remains in solution in said first solvent. The process can be used to remove azide and aniline impurities as well as other uncharacterised impurities.</p> |
