A plurality of optical fibres for the transmission of an optical image are arranged as a non-coherent bundle (10) in which the relative orientation of the fibres at an output end of the bundle differs from the relative orientation of the fibres at the other, image input end of the bundle, a processing device (15) being provided to receive an input signal from the output end of the optical fibres, and conversion means being provided for operating on a signal representative of said output end signal in a manner related to the differences between the relative orientations of the fibres at the respective ends of the bundle thereby to provide an output signal which is directly representative of the image at the input end of the fibre bundle. |
