<p>Device for coding digital signals corresponding to interlaced frame images, comprising, on the one hand, in parallel, first and second variable-length coding channels (10, 30) and, on the other hand, also in parallel, first and second prediction channels (20, 40), one of the coding channels including a front-end circuit (31) for suppression of the interlacing of the frames, and the corresponding prediction channel including a circuit (45) for re-establishing the interlacing of the frames. The device is characterised in that it also comprises a decision subassembly (50), itself including means for comparison of the output signals from the first and second coding and selection channels, according to the result of the said comparison, of one of the coding channels and of the associated prediction channel. <IMAGE></p> |
