In the present invention there are described novel 1-phenyl-3-dimethylamino-propane compounds of the general formula I. Further there is described a process of their preparation that is characterized for instance in that for preparation of the compound of the general formula I wherein X represents a hydroxy group, {beta}dimethylaminoketone of the general formula II is brought into reaction with the organometallic compound of the general formula III. In the present invention there is also described the use of those substances for preparing medicaments, particularly analgesics.
