PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrophilic polyolefin material which exhibits a permanent hydrophilicity in wide application areas by applying a coating agent contg. a surfactant and an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer to a polyolefin material. SOLUTION: A polyolefin material is made hydrophilic by coating with a coating agent contg. a surfactant and an ethylene-vinyl alcohol (EVOH) copolymer. Pref., the coating agent is applied in the form of a mixture of a surfactant with EVOH, though these ingredients may be applied one after another. Pref., the coating agent is applied in a coating wt. of, on average, 10-25 wt.% of the polyolefin material. The application of a surfactant onto EVOH promotes the adhesion of EVOH to the polyolefin material and enhances the permanence of the coating. Pref., the coating agent is applied in the form of a soln. in an alcohol or water. |
