PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the variable valve system to suppress a feed amount of lubrication oil to a minimum amount necessary to lubricate the cam profile surface of each cam and in turn, prevent the increase of the size of an engine, the occurrence of a drip of lubrication oil to an unnecessary part and penetration thereof. SOLUTION: A variable valve system is provided with a locker arm 21 wherein a slipper follower 23 pressed as it is brought into slip contact with a cam 11 for a high speed and a roller follower 24 pressed with it brought into rolling contact with a cam 12 for a low speed are disposed. An oil supply port 45 to discharge lubrication oil is formed in a lubrication oil passage 44 arranged above a cam shaft 10 and delivering the lubricating oil only in a position corresponding to a can 11 for a high speed to press the slipper follower 23. On the roller follower 24 side, after lubrication oil drips on the cam 11 for a high speed through the oil supply port 45, lubrication is executed by lubrication oil sprashed to a periphery.
