PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve an inconvenience caused by the difference of a throttling rate depending on a place of execution, by changing a throttling range, an initial opening or the throttling rate of a throttling device during refrigerating cycle in accordance with the throttling rate at liquid side connecting piping of connecting piping, in the case where the refrigerating cycle is constituted by connecting an inner unit and an outer unit through the connecting piping. SOLUTION: An outdoor unit A and an indoor unit B are connected by liquid side connecting piping 60 and gas side connecting piping 70 in an air conditioning device. The length each of the used connecting piping 60, 70 is determined by the set-up locations of the indoor unit A and the outdoor unit B. Further, a throttling range or an initial opening of a throttling device is changed by controlling an establishing means 41 in accordance with the determined length of the connecting piping 60, 70. The establishment of the change by the establishing means 41 is carried out by operating the air conditioning device, and recognizing the length of the connecting piping. Recognition of the length of the piping is conducted such as by detecting an entrance piping temperature and an exit piping temperature of the liquid side connecting piping 60 by means of temperature detecting means 91, 92, respectively, and estimating a pressure loss on the basis of the temperature difference.
