PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tunnel excavator which dispenses with a lock bolt driving machine carried by a hand to be used, and has good work efficiency and high safety. SOLUTION: This tunnel excavator is adapted to excavate a tunnel by rotation of an excavating drum having a pick. The excavator comprises a lock bolt boom 24, a feed device 27 and a drill 15 and a drill rotating motor 20a which are drilling devices, and it includes a lock bolt driving machine 20 provided on the cutting boom 6. The lock bolt boom 24 is a device provided on a cut boom 6 to be oscillated in the vertical direction and in the horizontal direction, expanded and contracted, and be rotated about the axis, the feed device 27 is movably provided on the tip of the lock bolt boom 24, and the frill 15 and the drill rotating motor 20 as a drilling device are slidably provided on the feed device 27.
