PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decorative ceramic body with a picture pattern with rich appearance and three-dimensional effect by using a material with which depth of graving can be freely controlled and a clear contrast in cope with the depth of the graving can be obtd. SOLUTION: In a decorative ceramic body 1 wherein a design pattern 3 is engraved on the top face of a laminated ceramic base 2 consisting of at least two layers and m.p. of adjoining layers are different each other, one layer constituting the laminated ceramic base 2 is made different in color so as to make the color difference at least three to the other layer constituting the laminated ceramic base 2 and the design pattern 3 is expressed by providing difference in surface gloss on the top face of the laminated ceramic base 2 and/or by exposing lower layers of the laminated ceramic base 2 and/or by making through-holes on the laminated ceramic base.
