PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a mounting job efficiency of the submersion discrimination seal unit and to allow the user to easily discriminate occurrence of submersion. SOLUTION: The submersion discrimination seal unit 10 is adhered to a case of a portable telephone set by using a double-coated tape 11 with an opening 11a nearly of the same size as a window formed to the case of the portable telephone set in a way that the window is sealed with a waterproof and transparent sheet 12. A submersion discrimination seal 14 is adhered on the other side of the transparent sheet 12 via a double-coated tape 13. The submersion discrimination seal 14 adopts a material with absorptivity for water and transparency. A line 14a is printed on the side of the submersion discrimination seal 14 opposite to the double-coated tape 13 by using water-soluble ink. When water soaks into the portable telephone set, the line 14a printed on the submersion discrimination seal 14 is blurred. When peeping the window, if the line 14a is blurred, the user can discriminate it is highly possible that the portable telephone set is submerged in water.
