PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To support both IEEE802.1p/Q and IETF differentiation service traffics by transmitting both known and unknown traffic characteristics from a transmission source to a network. SOLUTION: The traffic has the unknown characteristic which includes the traffic having the weighted priority and the traffic having no weighted priority. A system 10 has a network where the traffic is transmitted. A transmission source 12 is connected to the network and transmits the traffic including both known and unknown traffic characteristics to the network. The system 10 also has a receiving destination 16 which is connected to the network and receives the traffic including both known and unknown traffic characteristics. The switch of the system 10 switches the traffic to the destination 16 from the source 12.
