PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a joint superior in tensile and bending characteristics by using a jointing means, wherein end faces are butted, heated and pressurized for joining in such a manner that at least a fusion layer is formed on a surface layer of a butting part with heating. SOLUTION: It is desired that heating is performed by gas heating or high frequency induction heating. Also, it is preferable that a butt part is surrounded with a tubular mold 10 whose inside diameter is slightly larger than outside diameter of bar-like members (reinforcing bars) 1a and 1b. End faces of the bar-like members (reinforcing bars) 1a and 1b are ground and cleaned, and inserted into the tubular mold 10 wound by a high frequency induction heating coil 11 around an outer periphery, and then the end faces are butted, fixed, aligned, and held. While a longitudinal direction pressure is applied to the bar- like members (reinforcing bars) 1a and 1b, the current is applied to the high frequency induction heating coil 11, so as to form an expansion part near the jointing face. The gap between the expansion part and the high frequency induction heating coil 11 is narrow, and the temperature of the jointed part is rapidly risen, resulting in formation of the fusion layer.
