PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a vasopermeable sthenia suppressing agent useful for the prevention and treatment of carebral edema, carebral hemorrhage, or the like, by including a dihydropyridine derivative having calcium antagonistic action. SOLUTION: The objective agent is produced by including a dihydropyridine derivative having calcium antagonistic action and expressed e.g. by the formula [A is a (substituted)aromatic ring; R1 is H, a (substituted)hydrocarbon group or a (substituted)amino; R2 is a (substituted)hydrocarbon group; R3 and R4 are each an acyl] (e.g. manidipine hydrochloride). The administration rate of the agent for e.g. an adult patient with cerebral edema (60 kg body-weight) is usually 0.1-20 mg/kg per dose and preferably about 1-3 doses a day. The agent is useful for the prevention or treatment of traumatic cerebrovascular disorder, cerebral hemorrhage (especially relapse), cerebral edema, migraine, or the like. It is also useful for the treatment of various symptoms induced by the above diseases such as emotional disorder (depression, anxiety, sleep disturbance, or the like), intellectual disorder (amnesia, dementia, or the like), derangement (epilepsy, schizophrenia, or the like).
