PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous calcium phosphate compound-coating composite material using a chitin and/or chitosan material as the substrate, and a preparation thereof. SOLUTION: Chitin and/or chitosan is dissolved in an aqueous acidic solution, developed and dried to prepare properly chitin and/or chitosan in the form of film, plate or the like. The chitin and/or chitosan thus prepared is esterified with phosphoric acid and then immersed in an aqueous solution containing calcium ions and hydroxy ions and subsequently in an aqueous solution containing calcium ions and phosphate ions, whereby the chitin and/or chitosan is coated with a porous calcium phosphate compound.
