PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planting apparatus of a transplanter capable of arbitrarily setting the opening timing and the opening width of a planting cup. SOLUTION: The objective planting apparatus of a transplanter is provided with a pair of front and rear planting cups 31 having an openable bill-formed lower end, a lifting apparatus 32 to vertically move the cup 31 and an opening apparatus 33 for opening and closing the cup 31. A transplantation seedling is put into the closed cup 31 at the lifted position, the cup 31 is lowered and thrust into the soil and the seedling in the cup 31 is planted on the field by opening and lifting the cup 31. The opening apparatus 33 is provided with a cam 62 to control the opening and closure of the cup 31.
