PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which the inside diameter of a faucet can be measured even when it is not possible to insert a sensor itself into the faucet without requiring any accurate centering work. SOLUTION: In a method for measuring inside diameter of faucet, a detector 1 in which a pair of laser displacement sensors 2 and 2' is arranged so that the sensors 2 and 2' may emit laser beams in the same direction and a pair of right-angle reflecting mirrors 3 and 3' is arranged so that the mirrors 3 and 3' may reflect the laser beams in the exactly opposite directions in such a way that the sensors 2 and 2' and mirrors 3 and 3' can be moved integrally in the direction perpendicular to the emitting and reflecting directions of the laser beams in the faucet 4 is used. After the mirrors 3 and 3' of the detector 1 are inserted into a faucet 4, the mirrors 3 and 3' are respectively moved in the directions perpendicular to the emitting and reflecting directions of the laser beams in the faucet 4 while the laser beams are emitted form the sensors 2 and 2'.
