Azoamidine compounds shown by the general formula [1]wherein R1 and R2 are independently a lower alkyl group, R3 and R4 are independently a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, and X is a divalent hydrocarbon group, or its hydrate, show high reactivity and are capable of forming an intramolecule salt with an amidino group and having high solubility into water, methanol and other solvents.
