PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a vane jumping promotion means by making use of magnetic attraction force in a vane pump. SOLUTION: This vane pump is so constituted that a cam ring 5 enclosing a rotor 4 in the inside of a housing, is fitted in so as to be packaged, each vane 11 made out of a ferromagnetic body, which is fitted in so as to be inserted in the vane groove 9 of the rotor, is so designed as to allow the tip end periphery of the rotor to be slid over the inner circumferential cam surface 5a of the cam ring 5, when the rotor is rotated, wherein an operation chamber which is formed among the inner side surface of a side wall part, the inner circumferential cam surface 5a and the outer circumferential surface of the rotor, is divided into plural pump chambers 12 to be faced in order to a suction port and a discharge port, which are opened in the inner side surface of the side wall part. In this case, a positioning pin 20 in the axial direction is formed out of a permanent magnet to be engaged with the housing and the cam ring 5, wherein the pin 20 positions the cam ring with respect to the housing so as to fix it thereto in such a way that the shape of the inner circumferential cam surface 5a will be in a rotational phase suitable to the direction around the axis of the suction and discharge ports.
