PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin film type magnetic head which is capable of generating a sufficiently large recording magnetic field in the thin film type magnetic head which performs high density recording requiring the narrow width of a recording magnetic pole. SOLUTION: The thin film type magnetic head is equipped with a laminated magnetic shield film 10, magnetically separated layers 11, 16, a magnetic pole film 17 served in common as a magnetic shield, a magnetic gap 18 and a magnetic pole film 19. Further, the thin film type magnetic head is provided with a magneto resistance element 15 between the magnetically separated layers 11, 16, and furthermore, is provided with first and second recessed parts 20 spaced with a certain interval adjacent to both sides each of the magnetic pole film 17, the magnetic gap 18 and a magnetic pole film 19, a first superconducting body 20a which packs the first recessed part and a second superconducting body 20a which packs the second recessed part.
