COMPUTER SYSTEM AND METHOD WITH TOUCH SCREEN KEYBOARD SUPPORT FOR MULTIBYTE CHARACTER LANGUAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the input, display and processing of various human languages composed of multibyte characters in the case of input using a touch screen terminal keyboard. SOLUTION: A keyboard definition file 24 is provided with a means for designating respective languages and a means for supporting the input of multibyte character language, a touch screen support module is functioned together with a translating means and a keyboard input module is functioned together with the keyboard definition file 24. The touch screen support module and keyboard input module are executed by a computer system, the input from the user through the touch screen keyboard is processed, and multibyte characters in respective languages are displayed on a display screen. This system is provided with a method for processing and displaying the input including the multibyte characters in respective languages on the touch screen keyboard as well.
