PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to execute judgment as to whether the set state is abnormal or not when a sorting cylinder is inserted and removed by making judgment that the sorting cylinder is abnormal when the metered value of metering means for metering grains and immature grains is below a preset value. SOLUTION: The grains and immature grains subjected to grain sorting with grain sorters 18, 19 are discretely metered by the metering devices 20 existing in the bottoms. A control section fetches the results of the metering and makes judgment as to whether the metered value of the immature grains is above the prescribed value or not and if the value is below the prescribed value, the voluntary test apparatus is stopped. At this time, the abnormality of the sorting cylinder is displayed and outputted simultaneously with the saving of the data. As a result, an operator is able to make judgment as to whether the set state is abnormal or not even if the sorting cylinder is inserted and removed by repair, inspection or exchange work. Then, the voluntary test work, which may be successively carried out, may be exactly interrupted. The casual incident of the intrusion of different samples may be minimized.
