FUEL ASSEMBLY HANDLING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel assembly handling apparatus capable of reducing exposure for a worker without lowering the work efficiency in removing a separator from a MOX fuel assembly in handling the MOX fuel assembly. SOLUTION: This fuel assembly handling apparatus for removing a separator 103 installed on a fuel assembly 101 from the fuel assembly 101 is formed by a pit 108 provided in the working floor surface, a fuel assembly holding table 105 installed on the bottom floor surface of the pit and extended upward from the working floor surface to hold the fuel assembly 101 to be movable vertically, and a separator remover 106 installed near the fuel assembly holding table movable horizontally and provided with a device for chucking a separator of the fuel assembly 101. By this arrangement, the separator of the fuel assembly 101 is removed by the vertical movement of the fuel assembly 101 held on the fuel assembly holding table and horizontal movement of the separator remover 106.
