PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the program of a printer easily correctable by storing a boot program for receiving and starting a program downloaded from an information processor and also storing the received program. SOLUTION: The boot program 51 in a ROM 33 receives and sets the printer program downloaded from a host computer 1 in a printer program area 44 in a RAM 32 and starts the printer program which has just been set. According to this set printer program, the controller part of the printer 2 operates. Thus, the printer program which is started after being loaded is put in charge of all total control over the printer 2. A reception part 34 performs a fast receiving operation since it writes received data in a receiving buffer 41 and a printer program area 44 directly.
