PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a useful sheath with a side hole adapted for carrying out CTHA and CTAP with only one place of arterial puncture. SOLUTION: A so-called 5FrJ-type sheath with a side hole is employed, wherein a tip of a sheath tube 1 is bent into a J-shape and a side hole 1b is formed in a predetermined position just before about 60 mm from a vertex of the bent portion. The side hole 1b is a long hole having an inner diameter of 4Fr and a length of 7 mm for only guiding a 4Fr-catheter, which will be described hereinafter, out of the sheath tube 1. Consequently, in tibiofemoral artery approach, the 4-Fr catheter is guided out of the side hole 1b of the sheath tube 1, celiac artery is selected, and CTHA is carried out in the state that the tip of the 4Fr-catheter is inserted into a common hepatic artery or a proper hepatic artery depending on purposes. After CTHA is carried out, the 4-Fr catheter is removed, and in this state, a 5-Fr catheter is inserted into the sheath 1 to carry out CTAP. |
