PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which the pipe inserting size of a faucet can be measured easily and accurately and the variation in measurement can be eliminated. SOLUTION: In a method for measuring pipe inserting size of faucet, a detector 1 in which a laser displacement sensor 2 is arranged so that the sensor 2 may emit a laser beam and a right-angle reflecting mirror 3 is arranged so that the laser beam may be reflected at right angles in such a way that the sensor 2 and mirror 3 can be moved integrally in the emitting direction of the laser beam is. The pipe inserting size of a faucet 5 is measured by moving the mirror 3 in the faucet 5 along the axial direction of the faucet from the inlet side to the interior side while laser beam is emitted from the sensor 2.
