PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a mechanism that can simply regulate tension of a belt with teeth thereon built in a sewing machine without any skill. SOLUTION: A tension regulation device 31 is installed in a belt 12 with teeth thereon arranged between upper and lower shaft. The tension regulation device 31 is constituted with a tension roll 32, a support element 33 and a regulation element 35. The support element 33 is rotatable about a shaft 47 while a fix screw 53 is in a loose condition, and is fixed on a fix part 50 of a sewing machine 30 in one body while the fix screw 53 is fastened. A screwdriver is pressed against a drive groove 46 in rear end of the regulation element 35 and is screwed, so the tension roll 32 is moved to change the tension of the belt 12. While the tension of the belt 12 is suitable, the fix screw 53 inserted through a long hole 43 is fastened to fix the support element 33 on the fix part 50 of the sewing machine 30 in one body.
