PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent display cells from erroneously functioning due to crosstalk between the adjoining display cells of a plasma display panel and prevent image quality from degradation. SOLUTION: By applying reset pulse to be applied during an overall reset period 41a to be divided into P1, P2, the timing of electric discharge is put in order in the second reset pulse P2, and hence crosstalk between the upper and lower adjoining display cells is reduced to prevent image quality from degradation. Further, assistant pulse of time interval of t1=1-3μs and pulse width of t2=5-30μs not electrically discharged after reset pulse is applied by polarity gathering electric charge so as to reduce the voltage of scan pulse.
