PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a highly reliable flexible capacitor element which has a small element thickness and which will not be broken, by increasing the adhesive strength between external electrodes and the element. SOLUTION: A thin-film capacitor consisting of an organic polymer substrate with external electrodes, internal counter electrodes, a dielectric film, and external electrodes, is constructed in such a way that the external electrodes are formed on the inside of the outer peripheral surface on the outside of the internal facing surface, without coming into contact with the internal facing surface and outer periphery. In this method for manufacturing the capacitor, the capacitor is manufactured by forming the internal electrodes on the organic high polymer substrate which is provided with external electrode by vapor deposition or sputtering so that the internal electrodes come into contact with the external electrodes, and the dielectric film is formed by evaporating and polymerizing at least one or more kinds of monomers.
