PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject novel compound that has an action to suppress the decomposition of ligands at elevated temperature and is useful as a catalyst (or its precursor) for hydroformylation or the like. SOLUTION: This novel compound is represented by formula I (QQ' is a bidentate chelate ligand; Q1 and Q2 are each phosphorus, arsenic or antimony; R0 is a bivalent organic group; Z1-Z4 are each a monovalent organic group, or Z1 and Z2 or Z3 and Z4 are incorporated to form a bivalent organic group; (x) and (z) are each 0-2; (y) is 0-4), typically a compound of the formula: (L1)(CO) Rh-Rh(CO)(L1) (L1 is formula III). The compound of formula I is obtained, for example, in the case of the typified compound, by dissolving a compound of the formula: RhH(CO)2(L1) in a solvent, for example, hexane, preferably in an atmosphere of nitrogen or argon gas, then heating them, preferably at 40-120 deg.C. |
