PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lay an assistant electric wheel along side a bed even in a narrow space by providing a front caster and rear caster movable in all directions in the front and rear of a lateral pair of electric drive wheels, and providing the drive wheels in such a manner as to be switchingly movable upward from a support surface for directly connecting the grounding parts of both the casters. SOLUTION: A wheel support frame 7 is vertically rotatable around a support shaft 6 by the rotating operation of a switching lever provided on one side of a main frame 5 to vertically move a drive wheel together with a rear caster 3. In traveling by the drive of the drive wheel 1, the drive wheel 1 is moved down to move a front caster 2 lower than a support surface A for directly connecting it to the rear caster 3, whereby the vehicle body is brought into contact with a floor surface B by the drive wheel 1 and the rear caster 3 and traveled in the state where the front caster 2 is floated. When the vehicle body is brought alongside a bed 22, the drive wheel 1 is floated from the support surface A, and the front caster 2 and the rear caster 3 are brought into contact with the floor surface B.
