PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformize the thickness of ice attached to each portion of a water tank, by making the spiral pitch of a pipe larger at a refrigerant entrance side than at an exit side, in an evaporator for an ice heat storage type heat exchanger in which the pipe for flowing refrigerant therethrough in a state of two layers of liquid and vapor, is spirally wound in a cooling water tank. SOLUTION: A pipe 2 for flowing refrigerant therethrough has a spiral form which is entirely cylindrical, in an evaporator for a heat exchanger which serves as an ice heat storage type beverage dispenser. An entrance 4 is formed at the tip of a spiral portion which is located at the uppermost end, and an exit 5 is formed at the tip portion which is bent upward from the lowermost portion. The temperatures of the refrigerant and cooling water are lower at a higher level, and therefore, ice is more easily formed at a higher level. Specifically, the pitches of the spiral pipe 2 at the individual stages, i.e., pitches P1-P4 from the upper to the lower, respectively, are formed so as to be P1>P2>P3>P4. Therefore, formation of ice at the upper portion is suppressed. Thus, ice 6 takes a spiral form which is substantially uniform from the upper to the lower.
