PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an Sm-Fe-N alloy powder, capable of minimizing the amount of incorporation of expensive Sm and giving an alloy powder homogeneous in composition and being crystallographically minimal in heterogeneous phases when the Sm-Fe-N alloy powder is manufactured by a reduction-diffusion process. SOLUTION: In the Sm-Fe-N alloy powder manufacturing method having a stage where oxides as raw material are subjected to reduction-diffusion, the oxides as raw material at least contain a double oxide of Sm and Fe, and the r-value of the oxides as raw material ranges from 10.6 to 12.4, where the r-value is defined by equation r=ASm/(ASm+AFe)×100 and ASm and Afe represent the number of Sm atoms and that of Fe atoms in the oxides as raw material, respectively. |
