PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent lamp device capable of improving build-up of the light beam of a cold cathode fluorescent lamp, having 2 mm or less for tube diameter. SOLUTION: This fluorescent lamp device is provided with a cold cathode fluorescent lamp 10, having 2 mm or less of tube inner diameter and sealed with the mercury and the inert gas and a lighting device 20 for applying a direct current voltage or an alternating current voltage, including a direct current component to the fluorescent lamp 10 for starting. The mercury coagulated in the fluorescent lamp 10 is transferred to be diffused inside of a discharge space as the mercury ions by the direct current voltage or the alternating current voltage including a direct current component, and lamp luminance is raised quickly. |
