PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sufficient effect of an additive and an excellent moldability by incorporating an antioxidant in a solution containing a specific amount of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer saponified material, then extruding it in a strand-like state into a solidified liquid, and cutting it to pelletize it. SOLUTION: At ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer saponified material (EVOH) having predetermined amounts of an ethylene content and degree of saponification in view of gas barrier properties, melt moldability, thermal stability and the like at the time of a high humidity is used to be manufactured by solution polymerizing, suspension polymerizing or the like. 2 to 60 wt.% of the EVOH is dissolved in a solvent such as a methanol or the like or an aqueous solution containing the solvent, and an antioxidant such as a hindered phenol compound or the like is added thereto. Then, the resultant mixture is extruded in a strand-like state into a solidified liquid such as water or water and alcohol mixture solvent or the like, sufficiently solidified, then disconnected, and palletized. Thereafter, it is washed to remove an oligomer, impurities and excess antioxidant and dried. Thus, excellent adding effect of the antioxidant and moldability are provided. |
