PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powder additive for water proof and water repellency, capable of imparting waterproof and water repellent effect to an inorganic cured hydrate such as cement concrete structure, having simple, easy and excellent durability and capable of developing various applications. SOLUTION: This powder additive for water proof and water repellency is characterized by capability to impart moisture permeability and water proof and repellency to a solidified hydrate such as cement by being added to an inorganic material (e.g. a cement-based material or the like) capable of solidifying through hydration reaction in a small quantity and is suitable for being mixed with cement concrete or the like. The powder additive is prepared by coating xonotlitebased calcium silicate as a core with an organopolysiloxane, by adding and mixing an agent for imparting greasy properties (e.g. zinc stearate, aluminum stearate or the like) to form grease and to immobilize the organopolysiloxane, by adding to and mixing with the greasy material a carbonate (e.g. calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate or the like) and/or silica, talc or the like and by adding and mixing zinc stearate, aluminum stearate or the like. |
