PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for printing and a method for printing which can improve quality of a printed matter. SOLUTION: A doctor device leaves ink IM filled in a printing area 30a and scrapes excess ink IM on non-printing area 30b. During a roller 351 is moving along a cam curved part 350a, an impression cylinder 31 presses a web W between the cylinder and a plate cylinder 30, and the ink IM in the printing area 30a is transferred to the web W. When the roller 351 is moving along the cam curved part 350b, the impression cylinder 31 with the web W is separated from the plate cylinder 30. Therefore, the ink IM being stuck on the non- printing area and not being scraped is not transferred to the web W. As the cam curved part 350b is a steep slope part, the web W is rapidly separated from the edge of the back end side of the printing area 30a. As the result, cut of the edge of the back end side of the ink I is improved.
