PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a centrifugal blood pump used for in vivo or in vitro blood circulation and capable of performing measurement of a blood flow rate supplied from the blood pump in a simple manner and with a stability over a long period of time. SOLUTION: A magnet for detecting velocities is fixed to a rotating impeller 2 of a centrifugal blood pump, a magnetic sensor 8 for detecting a rotating magnetic field generated by the magnet is fixed to a pump housing 10, and a rotation frequency of the impeller 2 is detected by the magnetic sensor 8. An induction coil or a Hall element is employed as the magnetic sensor 8. The magnet for detecting velocities also serves as a magnet for rotationally driving the impeller by an external rotating field.
